Sous
les hautes arches de la Cathédrale
Américaine
de Paris, la mode, l’histoire
et le patrimoine culturel se sont unis dans un spectacle qui a
transcendé le temps. Avec sa nouvelle collection, la créatrice
serbe Mia Kostov a réveillé
l’esprit
de l’impératrice
Théodora, apportant avec elle l’aura
de l’ancienne
cité de
Caričin
Grad – Justiniana
Prima.
Tissées
dans les broderies dorées du passé, les visions du futur ont pris
forme. À travers des silhouettes inspirées de la force des
mosaïques
impériales et de la grandeur silencieuse d’une
cité autrefois glorieuse, bâtie
par l’empereur
Justinien en l’honneur
de son épouse,
Mia Kostov a dévoilé
une collection intemporelle n’appartenant
ni au passé, ni au présent —
mais
à
l’éternité.
Ce n’était pas seulement un défilé
de
mode. C’était
le retour de l’impératrice.
Et avec lui, le retour de la Serbie au cœur de la carte culturelle
de l’Europe.
L’événement
a marqué non seulement un sommet dans l’histoire
de la mode balkanique, mais aussi un moment de fierté nationale
profonde. Il a été
officiellement annoncé que
Justiniana Prima sera mise à
l’honneur
dans un film documentaire dédié,
qui rejoindra la collection permanente du nouveau Pavillon Byzantin
du Louvre, dont l’ouverture
est prévue en 2026. Pour la première
fois, des visiteurs du monde entier pourront découvrir le sud de la
Serbie —
non
seulement à
travers
ses trésors
archéologiques,
mais aussi par le prisme du design, du récit et de l’émotion. Ce
qui était autrefois caché entre enfin dans la lumière
mondiale. «

assisté à la transformation de la pierre en soie, du patrimoine en
haute couture. C’était un pont artistique et symbolique entre
Lebane et Paris, entre l’empire
oublié de Byzance et les podiums modernes d’Europe.

et le design contemporain serbes ont fait leur entrée sur la scène
mondiale —

Empress
Theodora Returns to the World – From
Lebane to Paris, From the Past to Eternity. From Stone to Silk: The
Empress’s City Has Arrived in Paris.
Under
the towering arches of the American Cathedral in Paris, fashion,
history, and cultural heritage came together in a spectacle that
transcended time. With her newest collection, Serbian designer Mia
Kostov reawakened the spirit of Empress Theodora, bringing with her
the aura of the ancient city of Caričin Grad – Justiniana
Prima.
Woven
into the golden embroidery of the past were visions of the
future.
Through silhouettes inspired
by the strength of imperial mosaics and the silent grandeur of a
once-glorious city built by Emperor Justinian in honor of his wife,
Mia Kostov unveiled a timeless collection that belongs neither to the
past nor to the present — but to eternity. This was more than
fashion. This was the return of the empress. And with it, the return
of Serbia to the center of the cultural map of Europe. The event
marked not only a high point in Balkan fashion history but also a
moment of profound national pride. It was officially announced that
Justiniana Prima will be featured in a dedicated documentary film,
which will become part of the permanent collection of the new
Byzantine Pavilion at the Louvre, opening in 2026. For the first
time, visitors from across the world will have the opportunity to
discover Southern Serbia — not only through its archaeological
riches, but also through design, narrative, and emotion. What was
once hidden now steps into the global spotlight. "Theodora is
not a ghost of the past — she is a force that lives in every woman
who leads with grace and conviction," said Mia Kostov after the
show. "This collection is my homage to her, and to the spirit of
Serbia — strong, radiant, and deeply rooted."
Through
every pleat, texture, and silhouette, the audience witnessed the
transformation of stone into silk, of heritage into haute couture. It
was an artistic and symbolic bridge between Lebane and Paris, between
the forgotten empire of Byzantium and the modern runways of Europe.
Serbian art, history, and contemporary design have stepped onto the
world stage — and the South of Serbia, rich in culture, mystery,
and beauty, emerges as a new, authentic destination for all who seek
meaning beyond the surface. Theodora left a legacy that continues to
inspire artists, historians, and modern women across the world. She
was a woman who shaped an empire—and Justiniana Prima remains the
stone-carved poem of her greatness.
Theodora
was not a myth. She was real. She was powerful. And—she is eternal.
